James Crawford
After years of studying and now working in clinical practice, I remain in awe at the development of the unconscious and its links to our emotional, embodied and relational life. I am motivated by a curiosity in people and their capacity to develop. I believe that a co-created relationship can be a vehicle for dynamic growth and development.
In the counselling, psychotherapy and mental health space I have worked with self limiting beliefs, workplace stress, depression, trauma, anxiety, sexuality, gender, bereavement, addiction and relationships, as well as dealing with unhealthy negative belief systems and broader existential issues. I hold a Diploma in Counselling & a Certificate in Humanistic Counselling Skills from the Gestalt Centre in London, and a Diploma in CBT/REBT from The College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in London. I spent my formative clinical years practicing within a specialist mental health service which is supported by local grants, and is directly affiliated to the NHS. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the largest professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK. I am bound by their ethics and standards.
I also have studied to Postgraduate level in Neuroscience at King's College London, hold a Bachelors Degree with Honours from the University of Kent in Canterbury and hold an Advanced Diploma in Personal Training, with a professional focus on health, fitness and nutrition, where I have previously worked with a range of clients and presenting issues. Outside of healthcare and people development I have had a successful career for over a decade in international business and entrepreneurship.
